Average Costs for Raw Materials

Cost Factor

For each material category. The cost factor represents the average cost per unit. These values are used in calculating the opportunity values in the Batching Accuracy dashboard by multiplying the over/under amount by the cost factor value for which the raw material belongs too.

Example: If Plant A is over batches cement by 300lbs on a load. The opportunity value becomes 300lbs/ 2000lb/ton * $100/ton = $15.00

Tolerance

Tolerance settings define the allowable range a raw material can deviate from its target weight during batching.

Example: a 1% tolerance on cement means any cement material batched within ±1% of the target is considered in tolerance. If the material is outside that range, it is out of tolerance, and the entire delivery is flagged as out of tolerance as well. For a delivery to considered in tolerance, all raw materials batched must be within the tolerance parameters.

Currently the cost factor and tolerance values are an enterprise average and cannot be configured on a individual plant or raw material basis.
